UEFA is holding a coronavirus summit on Tuesday when they are set to postpone Euro 2020 for 12 months and also potentially abandon the Nations League completely.

That would mean there would be no international football until next March with the resumption of the Euro play-offs and potential England friendlies as part of the emergency plan.
They will also discuss plans for the Champions League and Europa League and, while they are determined to finish this season’s competition, there is serious doubt about next year’s European club competitions.
It is a major blow for English football because Wembley was due to stage England's Group matches at the Euros and the final on July 12 but it is believed UEFA plans to push the whole tournament back by a year but keep the same dates and venues.
However, that would mean the Nations League would have to be scrapped as the finals are due to be held next year and cannot clash with the Euros while it would also free up six dates this season by stopping the Group competitions, therefore, enabling the fixture calamity.

Mark Bullingham participation

Football Association leading administrative Bullingham will be part of the video conference calls which will see the European Leagues, European Clubs Association, and 55 member republics have three video conference calls directed by UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin.
Ceferin cannot even leave his state Slovenia for tourism limits but it is hoped UEFA will come up with some clear eventuality plans rather than just a postponing statement.
There have been talks over whether to make the Champions League and Europa League quarter and semifinals as one-off ties or stage the remaining games at the final venues in Istanbul and Gdansk respectively and make them a mini tournament.
But one UEFA official described the Champions League as their Superbowl and they will be determined to keep it, but next year’s will almost certainly have to be changed in format or postponed completely to allow football to get back on track.

The Champions League qualifiers start in July and domestic seasons will still be going on so it is likely they will have to scale back the competition dramatically.
But the UEFA meeting should at least provide a clear path over what they want to do and by putting back the Euros and scrapping the Nations League it gives the domestic game some breathing space.
The Premier League will meet on Thursday on the back of the UEFA meeting but sources insist that they cannot come to a quick or definite decision because no-one knows the full the extent of the virus.
