Borussia
Dortmund will be without their captain, Marco Reus, for the return leg of their
UEFA Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain set to kick off on March
11 at the Parc des Princes.
In
an interview with RMC Sport, Dortmund CEO, Hans-Joachim Watzke confirmed
that Reus has not yet fully recovered from a muscle injury suffered on
February 4. Champions League fans from around the globe can acquire Champions
League Final Tickets online to make the most of its dazzling
exhibitions.
“He
[Reus] will not be travelling to Paris. He will be ready in a few weeks but not
for Paris, it’s too early. For us, it’s bad news. Marco Reus is our captain and
for that he is our most important player, for sure.”
Dortmund
didn’t seem to miss Reus too much in the first leg at Signal Iduna Park as
they defeated PSG 2-1 with Erling Haaland scoring a brace.
Julian Brandt:
While
Reus is sidelined, Julian Brandt could feature in this tie for the first time.
An ankle injury kept the Germany international out of the first leg
but he recently returned to the pitch.
Although,
Brandt hasn’t played a full 90 minutes since his return, so keep an eye on
Dortmund’s match this Saturday against Borussia Monchengladbach to see if he
starts and goes the distance.
PSG
are not without their issues leading up to the Champions League fixture
either. Their key absences include Marco Verratti, Thomas Meunier, Ander
Herrera, and Thiago Silva.
Unlike
Dortmund though, PSG has two matches remaining before the rematch to get
through unscathed.
